This talk describes the technical fundation of OpenSpace, an open source package for astrovisualization which we develop in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History, New York University, University of Utah and Goddard Space Flight Center. The talk also includes a live demo, operated by Micah Acinapura, of technically challenging applications.
Anders Ynnerman Takes Us To The Moon
Brilliant Minds 2019
In this presentation we use OpenSpace, an open source package for astrovisualization which we develop in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History, New York University, University of Utah and Goddard Space Flight Center, Dr. Alexander Bock and I take the Brilliant Minds 2019 audience to the Moon and Mars. We are using three amazing displays to turn the auditorium into a space ship for 500 people.
Exploranation talk at Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2017
This talk addressed the convergence of exploration and explanation leading to the of notion exploranation, which enables engaging interactive experiences at public venues such as Science Centers and Museums. The talk contains interactive demonstrations of volumetric visualization of the human body. It also shows how the digital mummy exhibit at the British Museum was designed and evaluated.
Visualizing The Medical Data Explosion
TEDx 2010 Gothenburg
This talk was recorded at TEDx in Gothenburg in 2010. It presents the dramatic increase in size in quality of medical data captured by CT and MR and how interactive visualization can be used to improve the clinical workflow and produce images of anatomy that are not only scientifically correct but also beautfiul and informative.
Making Magic
The first WISDOME production takes the audience on a journey through the magical world of visual effects. It explains how the underlying mathematics, physics, programming, design and storytelling are necessary to make the magic happen. My role in the production team was executive producer and script writer.
VAST 3D (Sv. Stort 3D)
The whole production is made using the interactive software OpenSpace and it is a rendered version of the live presentations we do at the center. It takes you to Mars, stars and galaxies, and all the way to the end of the universe. It is all based on collected scientific data. My role in the production was director and script writer.
Facade projection at the opening of the Visualization Center C on May 27th 2010.
This video shows the artistic work of the AntiVJ group. A large projector on the other side of the Motala river projects images on the facade of the visualization center. The result was a 10 minute audio visual experience as the grand finale of the opening of the center.
